Most Civilian roles are not eligible for housing benefits. However, there may be exceptions depending on your role and location. A hiring manager will provide you with more information if you are eligible for any housing or relocation benefits.
While there are some differences in coverage and pricing, part-time Army Civilians receive the same benefits as full-time employees. You’ll have access to the same health insurance, just with a higher premium. You’ll also have considerable retirement benefits and paid time off—based on the amount of hours you work.
As an Army Civilian, you’ll earn a competitive salary. Civilian pay is based on the General Schedule (GS) pay scale(Opens in new window) plus locality pay(Opens in new window) according to your geographic area. The GS pay scale has 15 grades ranging from GS-1 to GS-15 that correspond with levels of employment from entry to more senior-level positions. The higher your GS level, the higher your salary.
